Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Social Marketing Advisor for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program- Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project to support the Population and Reproductive Health Task Order, located in Arlington, VA. GHSC-PSM is the primary vehicle through which USAID will 1) procures and provides health commodities; 2) provides technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain; and, 3) collaborates with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. The project encompasses three primary objectives: global commodity procurement and logistics; systems strengthening to support in-country supply chain management; and collaboration via strategic engagement to improve long-term global supply of health commodities. The Advisor coordinates social marketing activities for the GHSC-PSM project. The advisor is responsible for analyzing the social marketing landscape in order to inform USAID and PSM on procurements for the Task Order 3 – Population and Reproductive Health sector.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a coordinator between USAID and PSM/Washington and USAID missions and Social Marketing Organizations (SMO) implementing partners to ensure PSM strategy and procurement operations are supportive of SMOs priorities and needs for family planning, male/female condoms and personal lubricant
  • Maintain visibility and insight into key USAID SMO partners globally to support forecasting and procurement operations, including pushing for submission of supply plans, reporting to the PPMR, placing orders within appropriate lead times, etc
  • Work with USAID missions, SMO partners, PSM procurement teams and suppliers to support SMO ordering, ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders
  • Maintain visibility of SMO registration landscape for USAID supported brands, identifying opportunities to mitigate supply risk and increase sourcing flexibility in line with relevant product sourcing strategies
  • Support USAID/Washington in making linkages between family planning and condom SMO programming and global supply chain and collaboration strategies
  • Support PSM’s broader global collaboration strategy, by serving as point of contact between stakeholders, coordinating and leading meetings, and proviignd visibility to central procurement operations into SMO programs and priorities to ensure our supply operations are responsive to their needs, including engaging with SMO partners globally and locally
  • Work with SMO to support in-country total market approaches
  • In coordination with CRM and GSC procurement team, support the coordination and development of artwork between suppliers, USAID missions, USAID Washington and PSM
  • Expand professional and technical knowledge through a variety of training resources
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum three years or more of professional experience
  • Experience with social marketing organization required
  • Experience on USAID-funded programs (highly preferred)
  • Familiarity PSM’s beneficiary countries (preferred)
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Strong communications skills, with experience working and communicating effectively with companies, clients, and internal colleagues
  • Global reproductive health/ family planning experience required
  • Analytical/Interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • French language fluency (preferred)
