Job Description

On the ground in more than 90 countries, CARE brings people together to end inequality. Not just for one person, but entire communities.

With CARE International nearing 75 years, CARE Canada works as part of an international confederation that puts women and girls at the centre of its work because poverty cannot be overcome until all people have equal rights and opportunities. CARE develops solutions with women, girls, and their communities and stands alongside them in economic empowerment, while facing issues like food insecurity, climate change, and emergency relief in times of crisis or disaster.

It is within this context that CARE Canada is seeking to recruit a President & CEO.

Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors, you will develop a bold and compelling strategy that inspires commitment across the organization, and with key stakeholders across Canada and around the world. You will lead a positive, cohesive, and high performing team culture that embraces change and that values transparency, accountability and innovation. As CARE Canada’s key spokesperson, you will engage with a variety of partners to promote the exceptional work the organization is doing around the world, and to differentiate CARE in a highly competitive environment.

As the ideal candidate, you are inspiring and engaging, and possess strong strategic and business modelling skills. You are respected by peers and staff as a compelling communicator, a trusted partner, and a highly effective relationship builder. You have a track record of raising funds through innovative, creative and meaningful partnerships, and are energized by the opportunity to promote a sense of pride, purpose and identity across the CARE organization. As an experienced executive, you have strong financial management skills, and are known to set clear priorities while leveraging the talent, expertise and aspirations of your teams. Knowledge of the international development sector is preferred, and your ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.

To learn more about this important opportunity, please contact John Caminiti or Michael Naufal at 613-742-3202. To apply for this position, please submit your application and related materials to jcaminiti@boyden.com and state “CARE Canada, President & CEO” in the subject line of your e-mail.

CARE Canada is committed to employment equity, welcomes diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from all qualified applicants.
