Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Specialist
ABA ROLI seeks a pro bono specialist for an approximately 12-week posting to Abuja, Nigeria, beginning in June 2020. The ADR specialist will support ABA ROLI’s International Justice Sector Education and Training (IJET) Program, working with Nigerian IJET Fellows at the Nigerian Judicial Institute to build capacity of court personnel who will serve as administrators and mediators at court-annexed ADR centers in courts around Nigeria. The ADR specialist’s responsibilities will include developing a training module for and training court-annexed ADR center administrators, developing a training module for and training court staff to serve as mediators, and developing a module for and leading a training of trainers for mediators. The ADR specialist should have at least 10 years of experience in ADR, including significant experience training mediators and managing court-annexed ADR programs. A JD or equivalent foreign law degree is preferred but not required. ABA ROLI will cover all costs including travel, lodging, and a stipend for meals and incidental expenses.
