The Program

The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, Australia Awards and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards and education programs in Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change, emergency preparedness and response and civil society engagement, across sectoral programs. In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalized.

The Facility Management Unit (FMU) in Suva provides centralized overreaching management of the Facility’s programs and activities including operations, monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), communications and public diplomacy and integration of cross-cutting themes. The communications team implements the Facility’s Communications Strategy to promote the visibility of Australia’s aid and contribute to stronger development outcomes across the Facility sector programs.

The Position

The Design and Production Assistant will provide graphic design and creative communications support to the communications team within the Facility Management Unit (FMU) through the design and production of internal and external collaterals, and graphics support for video production. This is a hands-on role and requires the Design and Production Assistant to support the FMU communications team develop high quality graphic visuals, creative designs, moving graphics and animation, moreover draft and design communications collateral such as fact sheets, brochures, postcards, infographics, posters, banners, reports, publications, organization charts, office processes, videos and social media.

The Person

The ideal candidate must have a degree or diploma in graphic arts, videography and creative arts with at least five years of graphic or creative design experience, using creative design techniques across multiple media channels, developing creative designs for development agencies and knowledge and experience in desktop publishing tools and graphic design software including Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft office. Moreover the person must have the ability to work under pressure while getting things done, multitask in parallel and be deadline oriented and, most importantly excel in interpersonal skills.

This position is locally engaged and is reserved for National Citizens of Fiji.
