Job Description

Social Solutions International, Inc. is seeking a Program Manager to coordinate and manage multiple tasks and consultants. The Program Manager must have experience supporting education programs in Latin America and the Caribbean and work experience in support of USAID. Responsibilities Serve as Program Manager on USAID funded program/s. Develop scopes of work and staff position descriptions; prepare activity reports and other deliverables, as required Plan project activities and schedule according to variety of methods to be used, availability and quantity of resources, and number of subordinate personnel assigned to participate in project. Contribute to and/or participate in assessments, research/analysis, field interviews, curricula development for training, and evaluations Work with Financial Specialist to manage program budget Recruit and field international and local consultants for short-term placements in Latin America and the Caribbean. Manage/oversee logistics associated with meetings and workshops in Latin America and DC. Create Program Workplans and contribute to strategic planning in collaboration with other Senior Staff and other members of the team. Refine already developed content expertise in Education Development; be familiar with literature and track new research and prepare and conduct presentations on the topic at external meetings and conferences. Ability and commitment to publication and presentation at professional and academic conference. Maintain confidential information in an appropriate manner is essential, as is an ability to use judgment in the wording and inclusion of pertinent and sensitive information. Support business development activities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s Degree and a minimum of five years of directly applicable work experience. Experience supporting education programs in Latin America and the Caribbean Experience working in support of USAID preferred. Spanish fluency (speaking and reading). Strong administrative experience to ensure smooth coordination and management of multiple tasks and consultants. Knowledge of expertise in education, including expertise in early grade literacy, education in high violence contexts, youth workforce development, applied research in education, and education development. Sufficient sector knowledge to assess the qualifications of prospective education consultants. Project management, document review and editing skills. Diplomatic and interpersonal skills. The position is highly independent and requires constant email availability and phone contact throughout the day. It requires the ability to travel locally to meetings. Work will be conducted in the Social Solutions’ Rockville, MD office. The Program Manager role will be part-time and may require additional hours including weekend hours when deadlines loom.
