Job Description


We are seeking a D.C.-based Project Assistant who will be responsible for backstopping ACDI/VOCA projects, new business proposals, and technical initiatives. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates with their Bachelor’s degree, some work experience, and language skills, who are interested in international development and working for a mission-driven organization.


Primary activities include but are not limited to: drafting and editing scopes of work; supporting field staff mobilization and repatriation; reviewing and processing expense reports; making travel arrangements/processing visa requests; providing support in editing and formatting of reports and documents; processing Powers of Attorney and other legal documentation; and assisting with the procurement of goods and services.

In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting with proposal research, collecting documents, formatting CVs, assisting with reconnaissance trip logistics, serving as a proposal coordinator, as well as performing other new business related tasks.


Minimum Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Agriculture, Finance, Economics or a related field, in addition to previous administrative work experience. Knowledge of USAID/USDA highly desired. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to work successfully as part of a team, as well as independently is required. Fluency in English is required. French proficiency required; additional knowledge of Spanish is a plus. The ability and willingness to travel internationally to developing countries.
