Under general supervision of the Project Development Manager, support project development and new business development initiatives, performing and following-up on administrative, research, editing, monitoring and negotiating support functions. Function as a key communications role to support new business development. As a team member, assist in defining, implementing, streamlining and continually improving WOCCU’s project development, proposal presentation and new business development procedures, systems and processes to achieve WOCCU’s goals and objectives.
- Conduct funding analyses and track donor trends. Research donor strategic objectives, country strategies, donor budgets, procurements/solicitations, and new funding announcements to ensure the timely receipt, investigation, and expression of interest for project bid documents from USAID, foundations (e.g. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, MasterCard), and other bilateral and multilateral agencies (e.g., World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, UN, Asian Development Bank). Regularly review news and information sources and donor websites and forward relevant information items to appropriate staff.
- Conduct research to a) identify potential project opportunities and funding sources, and b) gather country, background, and technical information required for project proposal preparation.
- Work with other WOCCU departments as well as donors and bilateral and multilateral agencies to help identify new business opportunities and contribute to the prioritization and coordination of project proposal activities.
- Coordinate and track all business development activities: administrative, logistics, proposals, and marketing, and communications.
- Participate in project teams, perform research activities and draft specific sections of proposals and concept papers as assigned.
- Provide final editing, formatting, copying, binding, and packaging of proposal. Respond to last minute requests as needed to ensure dispatch of accurate and effective proposal materials.
- Work with Human Resources to develop and maintain a database of potential consultants and candidates for project development and/or project director assignments.
- Maintain WOCCU’s electronic and paper project development files.
- Draft and edit marketing material: background statements, program briefs, social media posts.
- Provide input into the website
- Review and support communications strategy.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Project Development Manager, as required. This may include travel reservations, clearances, routine inquiries and logistical work. Coordinate with other WOCCU staff, donors, NGOs, credit union organizations, and other parties involved in supporting new business development.
- Provide administrative support in the contracting of consultants, including but not limited to preparing contract and budget, logistical support and follow up.
- Assist in the preparation of project development work plans and budgets and track achievement of project development goals against the work plan.

Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of USAID procurement rules and how to navigate procurement websites. Experience with other donors such as the World Bank, United Nations and the Gates Foundation.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, international business, development, journalism, or related areas of study. Relevant Master’s degree is preferred.
- 4-6 years related experience working in a proposal coordination position to include customer service, program tracking, report generating, external liaison, writing, and clerical support including knowledge of administrative and business procedures.
- Demonstrable experience in international development finance, whether through previous jobs, internships, courses, or papers.
Language Skills: English fluency. Spanish and/or French fluency is preferred.
Computer Skills: Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Publishing and design software experience is helpful.
