Summary of Position:

IREX seeks qualified Project Director candidates for an anticipated U.S. Department of State funded professional exchange program for emerging business and social entrepreneurs across Latin America and the Caribbean. The program will select a talented, diverse cadre of leaders from across the region to participate in four to five week fellowships at organizations and businesses across the United States, and will include ongoing learning and networking opportunities and a closing summit. The Project Director will oversee program activities and be responsible for ensuring all objectives are met.

This position is contingent on funding. Only US-based candidates will be considered.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary liaison between the program and the U.S. Department of State as well as program beneficiaries, IREX’s home office, and other stakeholders
  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the program, ensuring deliverables are technically sound and submitted in a timely manner
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all administrative and operational aspects including finance, human resources, monitoring and evaluation, external communications, and contractual compliance
  • Supervise and mentor program personnel

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must currently be residing in the U.S.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least eight (8) years’ experience working on relevant donor-funded programming, with a minimum of four (4) years’ senior management experience
  • Experience working in LAC preferred
  • Technical knowledge of and hands-on experience with exchange/fellowship programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships with donor counterparts and project stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including conflict resolution abilities, and a demonstrated ability to hold staff accountable for quality outputs and results
  • Fluent English language skills; Spanish language skills preferred
