The Team & Role:
Surveys & Advisory Services (SAS) is the business and communications research and consulting practice at Devex. SAS leads quantitative and qualitative surveys and other customized projects for Devex clients, conducts in-depth assessments and reports on issues that matter most to the global development community, and develops business-focused editorial content, including practical business analysis and advice. SAS works with some of the most progressive and impactful private and public sector organizations in the world, including multinational corporations, international NGOs, and U.N. agencies.
The SAS team is looking for a versatile, business-minded, and highly-analytical Project Lead with excellent oral and written communication abilities. The right candidate can turn an idea into action through developing and sticking to a project plan, manage a small team of project analysts and turn data into results. They can conduct in-depth research and data analysis, but also take a step back and explain in plain English what the findings actually mean to an international development audience. The candidate is comfortable with managing timelines, working with clients in a consultative process, managing and analyzing large data sets and managing a project team.
To fit well in this role you must be fluent in English. You should be truly sharp, an excellent researcher, analyst and writer, and someone with the leadership and communications skills that attract colleagues and clients to want to work with you.
You also must have…
- At least 5 years of total experience as a consultant/analyst, with at least 2 of them as a project lead or similar position in a consulting and/or market research firm
- A firm understanding of why communications insights matter for your clients
- An understanding of the development sector and a global mindset
- Relevant undergraduate degree
Besides the basic requirements, here’s what we’d love to see…
- International degree and/or work experience
- Experience working for clients that are in the social impact space
- A solid grasp of how the development business works
- You haven’t just heard of USAID, the World Bank and the Gates Foundation; you
actually know what they do and how they work
This role will be based in our Washington and/or Barcelona offices.
