Job Description

Green Powered Technology is seeking a Project Manager of International Energy Engineering Services to provide subject matter and management expertise to support one of our clients in the Washington D.C. Metro Area.


  • Technical review, analysis and advisory of proposed energy programs in developing countries to include proposals, studies, assessments, terms of reference, scope and budget.
  • Support the development and design of client’s program activities
  • Technical inputs for the drafting of client’s project documents
  • Technical advice to support client’s program monitoring activities
  • Technical advice on new or emerging energy technologies and market trends in developing countries for both renewable and traditional power generation, including biogas, biofuel, solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, oil, gas and biomass waste to energy. Provide advisory services related to power transmission and distribution.
  • Technical advisory support related to: available technology; supply chain; environmental, regulatory, social, and development impacts context specific to the countries covered in the contract.
  • Development of tools and knowledge management activities to foster information sharing and industry best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
  • Professional Engineering Certification, such as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer In Training (E.I.T.).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience leading or supporting energy sector programs, particularly energy engineering projects involving project planning (pre-feasibility, feasibility, technical assistance, design), development, procurement, construction, maintenance and operations.
  • Experience with renewable (solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, hydropower, oil, gas, biofuel) and traditional power generation, distribution and use.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (requires US citizenship).
  • Strong writing skills with proven experience successfully writing technical documents for non-technical personnel.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working in developing countries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
  • Post graduate degree from an accredited University.
  • Fluency in a foreign language such as French or Spanish.
  • Prior experience in project planning work and developing energy infrastructure projects in emerging markets.
  • Knowledge of other energy sector disciplines in which U.S. industry is competitive (e.g., upstream, midstream, downstream oil and gas production, energy storage).
  • Knowledge of energy sector environmental issues, emissions mitigation or reduction, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and infrastructure resiliency.
  • Prior energy utility experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
