Pact is looking for a Regional Capacity Development consultant who will work closely with the project’s Regional Capacity Development Activity Manager (RCDAM) to provide support and guidance to the project’s partners in Suriname and Guyana. The consultant will help with the coordination of project activities in Suriname and Guyana, working closely with the project’s capacity development organizations (CDOs) and the IPOs they support.
The consultant will focus efforts to support Pact’s local partners to ensure adequate capacity is developed among participating indigenous people’s organizations across prioritized areas and that regular monitoring takes place with each local partner. The consultant will provide inputs for the project’s learning and reflection agenda, as well as technical reports, as requested.
• Review and understand the project’s capacity development approach and tools and their application in the context of Suriname and Guyana.
• Provide on-the-ground insights from Suriname and Guyana and support to the RCDAM with ensuring strong progress of CDOs and IPOs against the project’s workplan, including, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
o Contribute to the development of required project reports and annual work plans
o Review key project documents and deliverables submitted by CDOs and ensure that these are in line with project goals, milestones and agreed-upon timelines. It not, support CDOs in achieving their capacity development objectives in line with their workplans. Coordinate implementation of activities and regional events including pause and reflect workshops.
o Assist in the administration of grants to local implementing partners, with focus on technical compliance and meeting of agreed-upon timelines.
o Coordinate the collection and compilation of monitoring and evaluation data from Suriname and Guyana.
• Contribute to relationship management and capacity development across technical areas prioritized by local partners, as requested.
• Share insights, lessons learned, challenges and best practices with RCDAM and other project stakeholders.
- A work plan to advise and technically guide partners to reach SCIOA’s goals in Suriname and Guyana.
- A monthly report including:
o Status of progress of activities and indicators from each CDO from Guyana and Suriname,
o Meeting notes from discussions with CDOs, including pictures.
o At least one success story and lesson learned from Guyana and Suriname.
o At least one conference or phone call with RCDC during the period.
