Position Summary:

Relief International currently seeks a Regional Program Development Coordinator (RDPC) to support Program Development (PD) efforts in the Middle East. The RPDC will work closely with the Regional Program Development Manager (RPDM), Global PD, Regional, and Country teams to support concept note and proposal development across a broad range of institutional donors (i.e. USAID/OFDA, PRM, ECHO, UN agencies, etc.). The RPDC will be based in Amman with potential travel to field sites as needed (up to 70%). The RPDC reports to the RPDM.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

In coordination with the Global Support Office, regional, and country teams:

  • Work with the Regional Director and RPDM to develop work plan for priority proposals;
  • Engage in needs assessment for project proposals as necessary;
  • Contribute to program design, for solicited and unsolicited programs, and for pilot and full scale programs;
  • Manage/coordinate the preparation of funding proposals, including leading proposal writing and costing efforts across a broad range of donors and award amounts;
  • Track country and regional proposal efforts and report to RPDM and Regional team on status;
  • In close collaboration with country teams represent RI as appropriate with donors and other events (e.g. INGO Forum meetings, etc.)
  • Support effective go/no-go decisions (including the preparation of go/no-go memos for decision-making) and cost share analysis;
  • Ensure PD process is followed, within submission deadlines.

In addition:

  • Prepare and update regular activity reports;
  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks; and,
  • Operate within RI policy, setting an example for other field staff.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Emergency response experience required; experience in Middle East preferred;
  • Ability and willingness to travel to field offices;
  • MA in international relations, business administration or other relevant field;
  • 5 years minimum experience INGO context, previous experience with USAID/OFDA, DFID, and ECHO preferred;
  • Proven success in grant writing, networking and liaising with field and HQ staff when necessary.
