  • Posted on 16 November 2020

Job Description

Bureau of Statistics (BOS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the Statistical Arm of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for the collection, consolidation, processing, analysis, publication and dissemination of statistics on economic, social, demographic & other important dimensions. However the data produced by BOS and other government departments are currently stored in silos. The data is not available in an integrated, searchable format, nor is it linked to data visualization and analytical tools for end users. A data portal is required to consolidate and integrate the data into a database, with a user interface that enables ready analysis. In addition, the data portal would allow public users to access BOS micro datasets and publications.

In this regard, FCDO funded Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED) programme is currently supporting BOS in the development of the data portal. The overarching objective of the project is to develop the best possible architecture for the BoS data portal with the required functionalities, migrate all the secondary and primary data to the new portal and create a state-of-the-art web-based user interface for BOS and public users.
