Safeguarding Lead

Manchester based, with regular travel. For exceptional candidates, MAG may consider offering the position as home based. The starting salary package for this position is £50,340 GBP, plus contributory pension.

About the role:

This newly created role will be MAG’s organisational lead on all matters relating to safeguarding. MAG has made excellent progress in reviewing and strengthening our approach to this important issue. This position is being recruited to ensure continuous improvement of MAG’s safeguarding practices and to ensure that organisational culture provides a safe place for anyone who comes into contact with our work.

About you:

We’re looking for a proactive and solution orientated candidate who brings experience of working in a senior safeguarding position, preferably in an international NGO setting. You will have experience of creating, developing and implementing high quality policies, procedures and guidelines in a complex, diverse organization.

You will be expected to work across multiple teams and functions, providing expert advice and guidance. This will include regular overseas travel, sometimes to insecure locations. This will require excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues around the world. Excellent interpersonal skills will be essential including proven experience of influencing decision makers at all levels.

You will also have previous experience of designing and delivering internal training that will help develop confidence and competence within the organisation in dealing with sensitive issues.
