The Government of Nepal requested financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to improve the East-West Highway (EWH). The project will address deterioration of road asset conditions, poor safety conditions and limited cross-border connectivity. The project scope covers three four-lane highways, bridges for the four-lane highways and road safety improvements, and will encompass engineering design, specification, bill of quantities, cost estimates; economic analysis; social and environmental assessments; preparation of bidding documents for improvement works; and procurement assistance.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
–Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Bridge Engineering or Structural Engineering strongly preferred
–20 years of experience, 15 of which is in Bridge/Structural Engineering
–10 years of experience as a Bridge Design Engineer
–Experience in the design of 5 major bridges of similar nature.
–Experience in wide geographic regions (country experience in addition to Nepal).
–Fluency in English required.
