Job Description

We want you to be the voice of Education in all that we do. Channel your Education expertise to the benefit of children, families and communities across Asia and the Pacific. We believe that all children have the right to learn in safe schools in times of both crisis and peace. Work with us to ensure children are learning and getting the very best education they possibly can.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict – we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:
In this full-time permanent position, based somewhere in Australia, Asia or the Pacific (we’re flexible as we want the best person for the job irrespective of where you live) you will influence strategic direction and ensure high quality education programming for Save the Children Australia. You will be part of our Policy & International Program Department and report to our Head of Specialised Technical Services.

You will make an impact by:
* Leading and inspiring a world-class team of five education technical advisors
* Expanding the reach and improving the quality of education programs through implementing evidence-based approaches
* Trying and testing new education innovations such as emerging digital education and training
* Positively representing Save the Children in regional and global education forums
* Influencing global and regional education strategies for Asia-Pac
* Developing and driving a workplan in support of our global education strategy

If we could compose the perfect you…

…You understand how the global community, through policies and programs, addresses the challenges of educating the hardest to reach children and keep abreast of the latest innovations. Thriving in complex coordination settings, you are confident and can go between the bigger picture and finer details of delivering quality programs. Your knack with external stakeholders identifies ‘out-of-the-box’ opportunities to scale up education programs. You are at the cutting edge of education programming.

This role requires:
* Substantial experience in the design and delivery of education programs in an international development context
* Experience in the design and delivery of training and capacity building exercises for diverse target audiences
* Successful organisational representation, including stakeholder engagement with international bodies, governments and donors
* Tertiary level qualifications in education
* Demonstrated team leadership experience

Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.

It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. We offer a competitive salary, a friendly and flexible work environment, and great career opportunities – both locally and internationally.
