CORE FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
The Senior Media Advisor interacts with USAID missions, other USG agencies and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to support independent media and freedom of expression across media platforms in the Europe and Eurasia region. S / he must have demonstrated ability to develop working relationships with regional media practitioners and program implementers; provide in-depth

advice to senior policymakers and other stakeholders; and be able to work independently. The Senior Media Advisor must have strong writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Strong in-depth knowledge of journalism, digital media expertise and media regulatory experience are required. The incumbent should be team-oriented and able to interact with DG Division members, policymakers and external stakeholders engaged in support for media development and freedom of expression in the region. The Senior Media Advisor is also responsible for directly managing centrally-funded, regional media programs in accordance with USAID rules and regulations.
