Power Africa Off-Grid Project is a four-year USAID-funded project to promote off-grid electrification in 18 countries in East, Central and West Africa. The project is headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa. PAOP provides technical assistance to key sector stakeholders, including private sector off-grid companies, investors and government agencies.
The West Africa Regional Manager: will be responsible for the management of regional advisors and subject matter experts based in the following countries the project operates in: Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Niger, and Senegal.
This position is a full-time role based in West Africa and this position reports to the project’s Chief of Party.
General Management
Oversee the development, maintenance and adherence to PAOP standard operating procedures.
Assist in the management of the communication of project reporting.
Have both strategic and operational accountability for the direction and performance of the PAOP West and Central Africa Lead Advisors.
Represent the West and Central Africa team during PAOP Project Management meetings, both remotely and in person.
Contribute across the project in working with the project’s management team on broad strategic and operational issues.
Manage operational needs of the West Africa PAOP Lead Advisors in coordination with the DCOP and Pretoria team
Human Resources
Review and approve staff leave requests and monthly timesheets and ensure timely submission thereof to the PAOP HR Manager.
Manage staff through performance planning, development and evaluation process.
Ensure staff development and career progression. Ensure practices in place to ensure/drive towards a high level of staff morale and retention.
Guide promotion and succession processes.
