Job Title: Technical Assistant – Shelter and Settlement

The Shelter and Settlements Technical Assistant will be directly supervised by an appointed Shelter and settlement Technical Advisor. The Technical Assistant will provide general support to the shelter and settlements rapid response and recovery (SSRRR) team under the humanitarian response department, and include developing trainings, tools and publications that promote CRS’ shelter strategies both within the agency, partner, and other external humanitarian actors.
You will provide assistance to the Shelter and Settlement Technical advisors in line with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) program quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practice to technical staff, and Country Program (CP) staff to advance the delivery of high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable. When required, to provide direct technical assistance for response and recovery programs and to assist the Shelter and Settlement team meet other longer-term targets through the production of presentations and case studies
* Master’s in international development, Architecture, Engineering, or * Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
* Additional experience may substitute for some education.
* General knowledge of technical principles and concepts in Shelter and Settlement.
* Knowledge of latest technological tools that have the potential to be applied in Shelter and Settlement.
* Strong English writing skills.
Required Languages – English
* Ability to travel as required for periods of up to 1 months
Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AUTOCAD, Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, Web Conferencing Applications, knowledge-sharing networks
