Job Description

Chemonics seeks a software developer to provide technical assistance to the GHSC-PSM project in Guatemala and support the National Center for Biologicals (CNB) of the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) in strengthening inventory control, implementing a software that responds to the operational process, and streamlines decision-making processes and data quality. This position is a short-term consultant with a 30-day level of effort. This position will be based in Guatemala. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare the work plan, including the methodology and activity schedule
  • Develop software and adaptations using the Open Source base and community programming language of the OpenLMIS software
  • Carry out adaptation to the Spanish language of the following software: Menus, Options, and System buttons
  • Analyze, design, and prepare reports in accordance with the requirements of the warehouse of the National Biological Center (CNB)
  • Design and prepare templates for official formats in accordance with the requirements of the warehouse of the CNB
  • Carry out all the developments, adaptations, configurations, installations, templates, and reports that are required, using the Amazon WMS web hosting and virtualization service that the GHSC-PSM project has allocated
  • Carry out the developments, adaptations, templates, and reports according to the updated procedure of the CNB, considering the good practices and logistics standards in the supply chain of a warehouse
  • Participate in progress meetings with the advisor or counterparts appointed by the GHSC-PSM project in accordance with the defined schedule of activities
  • Conduct on-site visits to the CNB to validate the flow of operations and the needs of the users of the tool

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems engineering, systems and computing engineering, systems and informatics engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the management, development, and configuration of the Open Source GLOBAL GOODS – OpenLMIS software
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in the development of software using the base languages:
  • Fronted Angular Js, Java, JavaScript, Shell, Python, Docker, and Html Database in PostgreSQL
  • Work experience with public sector institutions, preferably related to health
  • Preferred experience in providing technical assistance to USAID or international cooperation projects
  • Ability to write reports and present results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
