Job Description

  • Analyse users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
  • Design and develop automation scripts when needed
  • Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
  • Provide timely solutions and feedback for system user issues
  • Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
  • Proficiency in documentation – providing test plans, written test progress, test results and test reports, client feedback and clear instructions to test team members
  • Understand technical specifications and assess requirements to ensure the testing covers real-life scenarios.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and technical and/or management experience in a related field.
  • Experience of QA Testing within an agile development environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a Software Development testing role.
  • Certification with software testing body would be advantageous – eg. International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
  • Knowledge of use of database querying language would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of USAID programming in the Ethiopian region and experience in one of the priority sector areas high preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of Amharic is a plus.

About the Organization

The QED Group is seeking a Software Tester Officer for a USAID Ethiopia Health Information Systems (HIS) project to support USAID/Ethiopia in providing technical assistance and other services for the implementation of the Electronic Health Information Systems (eHIS) Activity. The project is aimed to support the Government of Ethiopia (GOE) to improve the quality of health service and create a sustainable health care system through use of data for decision making and for providing similar services and deliverables to other countries in Africa or to respond to a crisis in Ethiopia.

The incumbent will provide software testing service for the newly develop software and modules.
