Position: Staff Care Consultant

Location: Remotely Based

*For California Contractor Only: Contracting Services under this Agreement allowed only within the State of California. Contractor is not authorized to perform any services for or on behalf of RI outside of California

Duration: Max. 100 hours over two month period

Reports to: VP of Human Resources

Scope of Work:

During the Contracting Period, Contractor shall provide the following services to Relief

International (deliverables should be measurable):

Relief International made a strategic decisions to focus its work on the most fragile settings where there is the most need. These fragile environments are likely to raise significant staff care needs and barriers to resilience. As such, RI is placing a high priority on staff care. RI used the services of a third party and launched a Staff Care Assessment to inquire about staff perceptions of staff care and resilience services.

We are looking for an experienced Staff Care Consultant to support RI in revamping its Staff Care

Program globally based on data received. The Staff Care Consultant must have previous experience in a similar role within INGO setting.

Major Deliverables:

  • Review the Staff Care Survey and Analysis (above)
  • Work with VP of HR and an ad hoc Staff Care Committee to develop RI’s Staff Care Philosophy and Staff Care Policy.
  • Solicit input from the survey and the Staff Care Committee to advice on Staff Care Priorities
  • Work with VP of HR and Staff Care Committee to design RI’s Staff Care Program based on the components RI has in place and the priorities solicited.

Qualifications & requirements:

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a similar position
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and the ability to interact with domestic and international management and staff
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage work under tight deadlines
  • Efficient self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit environment a plus
