Job Description

Palladium is a global leader in the design, development and delivery of Positive Impact - the intentional creation of enduring social and economic value. We work with foundations, investors, governments, corporations, communities and civil society to formulate strategies and implement solutions that generate lasting social, environmental and financial benefits.

For the past 50 years, we have been making Positive Impact possible. With a team of more than 2,500 employees operating in 90 plus countries and a global network of more than 35,000 technical experts, Palladium has improved - and is committed to continuing to improve - economies, societies and most importantly, people’s lives.

Palladium is a child-safe organisation, and screens applicants for suitability to work with children. We also provide equal employment to all participants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran or marital status. HP+ will be working with local partners in Tanzania to apply a new, HP+-developed family planning advocacy model called the Family Planning-Sustainable Development Goals (FP-SDGs) Model. This model indicates how family planning can help meet various sustainable development goals, thus furthering the case for the multi-sectoral importance of family planning. The evidence-based advocacy model quantifies the boost family planning offers toward reaching various health and non-health SDGs.

HP+ will convene a workshop with relevant stakeholders to validate model data, determine scenarios, review results, and discuss desired advocacy messages. Following the workshop, HP+ will finalize the model results, develop advocacy materials, and organize a dissemination meeting to share the results and advocacy messages. The developed advocacy messages will be used to promote greater multi-sectoral prioritization of FP/RH efforts to help countries achieve SDG targets and related multi-sectoral development goals.

Palladium is seeking a local consultant to be engaged with the model application and advocacy process. The consultant will be involved with data collection and review, along with facilitating and preparing the logistics for the model application and dissemination meetings.

* In coordination with HP+, introduce the model application activity and get buy-in from in-country stakeholders such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC).
* Propose or revise the invitation list for the model application workshop and then the dissemination meeting, send the invitations, and follow-up with participants as needed.
* Collect and review data for the model.
* Brainstorm scenarios based on country plans/aspirations.
* Co-facilitate the model application workshop and dissemination workshop
* Review advocacy materials and provide feedback.
* Organize meeting logistics, which includes planning the venues and food, etc.
* Be available for additional activities as needed.
* Demonstrated experience, expertise, and contacts from working on family planning issues in Tanzania.
* Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
* An understanding of governmental structures and policy processes in Tanzania, as they relate to family planning.
* An understanding of advocacy for family planning funding.
* An understanding of the multi-sectoral impacts of family planning and an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.
* Experience with organizing workshop logistics.
* Prior experience working directly with high-level government stakeholders strongly desired.
* Fluency in English required.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Master’s degree in social sciences, public health, development studies (or a related field) desired and five years’ experience in the relevant field.

Expected Timeline and Level of Effort
Approximately 12 days between June and October 2018, with concentrated efforts in preparation for (and during) workshop(s) - first workshop expected in early or mid-July. Please submit a one-page description of your qualifications.
