Description:FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Teacher Training Coordinator for the upcoming USAID/Mali Girls’ Leadership Empowerment through Education (GLEE) project. The purpose of the GLEE project will be to improve girls’ learning outcomes and facilitate girls’ leadership and empowerment skills. Illustrative activities could include girls’ catch-up programs, scholarships, peer-to-peer mentoring, parent and community involvement and dialogue, conflict mitigation, and psycho-social and well-being support.
The Teacher Training Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the Education Equity Specialist to identify a cohort of head teachers and teachers, school officials and administrators, and local education officials in relevant ministries in the project schools’ communities; and to organize training workshops on participatory methodologies, pedagogy, literacy, math and science, gender sensitivity and inclusion, and safe schools to improve the quality of teaching and enrich the learning experience for all students, particularly girls. Through regular classroom observation, evaluation and feedback, the Teacher Training Coordinator will ensure that all trained teachers and school officials are applying lessons learned in the classrooms and across the schools with the objectives of increasing retention and improving academic performance for all students. The Teacher Training Coordinator will assist in monthly reporting and work plan preparation; organizing and executing teachers’ training workshops; and monitoring and evaluating trained teachers’ performance.
FHI 360 anticipates that the Teacher Training Coordinator will be based in in Bamako, Mali with project-funded travel to other parts of Mali. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project, and the selection of the final applicant is subject to USAID approval.
