Job Description
As a Field Team Leaders lead distribution teams in various locations in Ayod county.
The staff will be supervised by the WFP Program Manager and will work with CRS national staff in each site to ensure that WFP commodity is properly stored, managed and distributed, and to provide necessary reports to CRS and WFP. The Field Team Leaders will be based in Juba when they are not in the field.
Leadership and Representation
- Represent CRS and the project teams at all relevant donor and stakeholder meetings as required
- Establish and maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders in the respective geographic areas
Program Quality and Management
- Oversee and manage distribution of food assistance in assigned counties
- Manage field distribution teams in assigned counties
- Ensure that adequate records of all financial and commodity transactions are maintained at all levels of operation, including but not be limited to receipt, storage, dispatch and distribution
- Ensure required documentation is correctly filled out and submitted to the Program Manager upon return from the field
- Oversee logistical planning and procurement (equipment, food etc.) for upcoming field rotations
- Maintain familiarity with all aspects of program strategies, logistics, personnel, and beneficiaries
- Ensure staff compliance with all CRS administrative and operational procedures and policies, as well as WFP regulations
- Ensure that the South Sudan security plan is adhered to in all operations of the GFD program, including staff movements
- Actively monitor and report to the PM on the on-going security environment within the operational area
usiness Development
- In collaboration with the Head of Programs and Business Development Manager, identify and pre-position for new funding opportunities
- Support the development of new project proposals (assessments, project design, writing, technical review, etc.)
Supervision
- Ensure annual performance planning and reviews of staff performance in keeping with CRS’ performance management system
- Mentor staff to ensure high levels of motivation, commitment, capacity and teamwork.
- Ensure staff compliance with all CRS administrative and operational procedures and policies, as well as applicable donor regulations
- Identify training needs for team members under his/her supervision and support the development of Program Quality capacity building for team members and partners
- Provide coaching and mentoring to mobile teams at the field level
- Perform additional tasks as required

Supervisory Responsibilities: 1 Mobile Team consisting of 1 commodity officer and 9 project assistants
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: CR, HoP, WFP PM, WFP Team Leaders, and WFP National Staff, CRS Operations Staff
External: WFP, UNICEF, other UN agencies, host country government ministries, NGOs, local partners and local community members
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with and managing food programs, preferably with WFP
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field
- Experience in supervising food distribution teams, preferably working with WFP food programs
- Experience living and working in difficult field conditions
- Strong coordination and organizational skills
- Data management skills and experience
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations
- Able to spend up to 4 weeks (maximum) at a time in difficult field conditions
- Ability to work closely with South Sudanese Government structures, local authorities, local NGOs and communities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet) required

Required Travel: Willingness to travel 75% of the time to remote areas of the country
