Job Description

Chemonics seeks technical specialists for multiple anticipated projects funded by USAID. The projects aim to work with government and non-government stakeholders to reduce corruption and improve accountability and oversight in Uganda. These projects also seek to strengthen cross-sectoral linkages across community-based groups like health user committees, producer organizations, parent-teacher associations, and others to improve citizen engagement and demand for improved governance and accountability. We are looking for individuals that have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Chemonics seeks qualified individuals with technical expertise in a range of disciplines, including:

  • Gender equality and social inclusion
  • Environmental compliance
  • Budget process
  • Media engagement
  • Procurement, auditing, and forensic auditing
  • Service delivery improvement
  • Public private partnerships and private sector engagement
  • National and subnational public administration
  • Political economy analysis
  • Institutional strengthening and performance improvement
  • Monitoring, evaluation, and learning, and mid-term and final impact assessments
  • Intergovernmental finance and integrated financial management information systems


  • Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in and working knowledge of Uganda and experience with local governance mechanisms strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills required
  • Proven experience working closely with and supporting governments
  • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility
