Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in Goma, in Field Technology Section (FTS) of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO). The Telecommunications Officer reports to the Chief Field Technology Section.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in telecommunications engineering, electronic engineering or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Job - Specific Qualification
Technical training certifications in Telecommunications, Cisco certifications as well as Prince 2, or ITIL are desirable.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven (07) years of progressively responsible professional experience in telecommunications, electronic data transmission, network design or related area is required.
Experience in managing, designing and delivering highly complex telecommunication systems and projects, and experience in integrating large-scale telecommunications systems or related areas is required.
Two years’ managerial experience is desirable.
Experience in budget, staffing and performance management and reporting is desirable.
At least 2 years’ experience providing services in the field of telecommunications, electronic data transmission, network design or related area to or in a field operation of the United Nations common system or comparable international organization is desirable.
Two years’ experience in the field of telecommunications, electronic data transmission, network design or related area in a conflict or post-conflict setting is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this position, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required
