Functional responsibilities

The Trainers (PM Certification (PRINCE2/MSP) will be subject matter experts primarily responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions for PRINCE2 and/or MSP certification, tailored to the needs of UNOPS personnel and external partners, and based on the Official Training Materials. In addition, the Trainers (PM Certification (PRINCE2/MSP) are expected to collaborate with IPMG to develop, improve and adapt training materials, incorporate participant feedback and best practices in UNOPS work contexts.

1. Preparation and Planning

  • Developing tailored content and educational training materials as needed in coordination with IPMG.

  • Reviewing and incorporating any updates to the PRINCE2 and MSP new editions into training content, if applicable.

2. Training Delivery

  • Conducting engaging face-to-face or online PRINCE2 and/or MSP training sessions in line with PeopleCert standards, ensuring all participants are well-prepared for certification exams, with a minimum of 80% pass rate per cohort as an expectation.

  • Offering additional support to participants, including mentoring and guidance on study approaches and answering questions related to exam preparation.

3. Feedback and Reporting

  • Providing thorough feedback and completion progress to IPMG to evaluate and improve training delivery.

  • Completing post-training reports to document identified key elements, improvement areas, assessing each sessions’ performance and outcomes.




Education/Experience/Language requirements

Educational Requirement
Education

  • An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent), preferably in Project Management, Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Education or Social Sciences is required.
  • A first-level University degree or bachelor’s or equivalent with seven (7) years of experience may be accepted in lieu of master’s degree requirement

Required Experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years in a role including teaching or delivering training responsibilities is required.]

  • A minimum of three (3) years (or more depending on academic credentials) of practical experience in project management / programme management is required and may be included in the above experience.

  • A minimum of ten (10) days of experience delivering classroom-based training in Prince2 or MSP is required and may be included in any of the above experience.

Desired experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managing, running and delivering project/programme management training courses.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing project/programme management training agenda and materials.

  • Experience as a project or programme manager.

Certifications

  • Hold a valid PRINCE2 (7th edition) Practitioner Certificate, and/or

  • Hold a valid MSP (5th edition) Practitioner Certificate.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English is required.

  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is highly desirable.
