Job Title: Training Manager

Department/Location: Washington, DC

Reports To: Project Director

Type: Regular Full-Time

Classification: This is a managerial, exempt-level position and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Overview: IBTCI is seeking a Training Manager in monitoring, evaluation and learning, (MEL), to provide training services requested by USAID’s E3 Bureau. The purpose of the task order is to provide monitoring, evaluation and learning services to improve development outcomes. This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the focal point for all MEL trainings, workshops, seminars, relevant meetings and other related activities.
  • Design and implement capacity development and training plans. Design and conduct pre and post-test training surveys and outcome assessments that may be required.
  • Manage the implementation of the MEL capacity building and training plan in coordination with relevant USAID stakeholders. Manage and revise this plan in line with the overall annual work plan.
  • Ensure that all training and related activities apply key principles and practices of adult learning, include participatory approaches, and address USAID’s latest MEL directives and recommendations.
  • Manage and monitor the authorized training budget, including preparing and reporting on authorized expenses per training activity.
  • Coordinate the successful delivery of all training activities, including planning of events, preparation of materials, and arranging facility, equipment, and material logistics.
  • Draft capacity building and training performance reports and ad-hoc requested performance and learning briefs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of experience with an international organization.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating MEL capacity building and training plans, and training curricula and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience and training in adult learning methods, facilitation skills, and collaborative approaches.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required.

Education: Master’s Degree in social science, international development, or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytic skills, interpersonal skills, and team management skills.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with different project management tools.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
