Job Description

The role
Join Australia Indonesia Infrastructure Partnership (Kemitraan Indonesia Australia untuk Infrastruktur - KIAT) in Jakarta to play an integral role in to meet the overall objectives of the Transport unit and KIAT facility. The TOD Specialist will help DKI Jakarta develop effective approaches to Transit Oriented Development. The main outcome of this activity would be a series of recommendations on how to develop Transit Oriented Development proposals in DKI Jakarta along with an action plan (which may be the subject of further KIAT support).

This role also involves:

  1. Review current Transit Oriented Development policies in DKI Jakarta
  2. Prepare the detailed design of a KIAT Activity to provide Transit Oriented Development support to DKI Jakarta

About you
You will be a motivated and proactive Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Specialist with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence. You will also have:

  • Excellent analytical skills and sectoral expertise relevant to Transit Oriented Development;
  • Track record of Transit Oriented Development assessments/studies;
  • Strong experience in urban/transport planning or urban/transport economics (min. 10 years), past involvement in Transit Oriented Planning in developing countries is an advantage;
  • High level report writing skills;
  • Experience working with donor funded programs;
  • Fluent in English language in writing and speaking;
  • Scrupulous in maintaining high standards of probity expected by the KIAT facility; and
  • Self-motivated, innovative, creative and a lateral thinking ability
  • Experience of working in Indonesia or other Southeast Asian countries on a similar assignment; and
  • Understanding of links between urban mobility and social issues such as gender and disability inclusion..

Remuneration
This position is classified under DFAT’s Aid Adviser Remuneration Framework (ARF) as Discipline C, Level 4 and will be offered at a level commensurate to the successful candidates’ experience relevant to the role.
