Job Description

SEGURA is searching for a consultant for a short-term assignment under the USAID-funded Egypt Integrated Water Solution Support Technical Assistance (IWSSTA) project, implemented by Tetra Tech ARD and SEGURA. It is a four-year activity charged with supporting the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) and its five subsidiary Water and Wastewater Companies (WWCs) in the Upper Egyptian Governorates of Minia, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, and Luxor. These Governorates are IWSSTA beneficiaries.

The IWSSTA aims to strengthen institutional capacity and improve the performance of the five WWCs to deliver high water quality according to the Egyptian standard specifications and ensure utility operations are performed efficiently and sustainably. Water quality will be monitored by two centralized labs situated in Assiut and Qena. The IWSSTA is preparing to support the development of a central lab for drinking water in Assuit company via the provision of required instrumentations, fittings tools, and benches.

The consultant will prepare the detailed technical specifications and tender documents for procuring and supplying of equipment and the training of laboratory staff on the use of the instruments and suitable labs software program (Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) application in labs and ISO/IEC 17025).

Due to the current COVID19 crisis, this work will be conducted remotely.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years work experience in in drinking water, which includes Inorganic, Organic, Bacteriological and Biological analyses
  • Work experience with Labs Software.
  • Previous experience with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Certified Internal Auditor program.
  • Experience with laboratory quality management and EQA monitoring
  • Experience with laboratory accreditation criteria and procedures
