2010 Hodson Award Goes to USAID General Counsel Office

The American Bar Association has named the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of General Counsel as the 2010 Hodson Award winner for its outstanding record of public service in different countries.

The USAID bureau operates in hostile environments such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan and serves in disaster-stricken countries including Chile and Haiti. It also helped boost Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.

The awarding ceremony will take place Aug. 6 in San Francisco at the JW Marriott Hotel, according to a USAID press release.

The Hodson Award is named after Maj. Gen. Kenneth J. Hodson, a distinguished public servant who served as judge advocate general of the U.S. Army and a founding member of ABA’s Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division.
