ADB Funds Afghan Railway Project

The

has approved a grant worth USD165 million to partially fund the construction of a 75-kilometer railway in the northern Afghan town of Hairatan. The money will also be used to renovate the area's station yard, construct a transshipment terminal, and support the development of a railway sector plan. This country's Ministry of Public Works will execute the project.
