ADB Supports Micro-insurance Project in Bangladesh

The Asian Development Bank has signed an agreement to provide USD2 million to Bangladesh in support of a micro-insurance project for some 20,000 poor families in the country. The project aims to provide these families with basic insurance services to help them reduce unexpected expenses from illness and damage to property. The project also includes an educational and awareness campaign about insurance schemes, the
