The Asian Development Bank intends to give a technical assistance grant of almost $1 million for the advancement of China’s reforms. Through the grant, the ADB will also help Asia’s largest nation in the implementation of existing policies and the promotion of objectives identified in the government’s Eleventh Five-Year Plan for Economics and Social Development for 2006-2010. At least $65,000 of the technical assistance will be financed by the British government through the ADB’s Poverty Reduction Coordination Fund. The grant will also be utilized for supporting other key projects, such as work on water resource conservation and the assistance of children whose parents have left the country to seek employment.
