The African Development Bank announced it will send Rwanda USD50 million in grant, mainly to support the country’s 2008 budget. The money will also be used to finance the second phase of Rwanda’s poverty reduction strategy support program. “Government has improved public finance management and enhancement of the population participation in the design and implementation of development policies,” said Rwandan Finance Minister James Musoni. “The bank aims to promote economic growth for sustainable development and poverty reduction in Africa,” added AfDB Presdient Donald Kaberuka, emphasizing the bank’s role in the region.
