The African Development Bank will continue helping its member countries develop a broad range of AIDS prevention programs and integrate HIV funding into their health systems, according to the bank’s statement on Dec. 1, World AIDS Day.
AfDB noted that HIV/AIDS is undermining Africa’s efforts to spur development. In its statement, the bank reiterated its support for national HIV/AIDS programs, as well as various agencies and other partners with projects that seek to curb the spread and completely eliminate HIV/AIDS from the continent.
