AfDB Praises Malawi's Economic Performance

The African Development Bank is “highly impressed” with Malawi’s progress in pursuing reforms and macroeconomic stability, according to visiting AfDB mission chief Peter Sinon.

The bank, the Pan-African News Agency reports, is ready to help the government conduct feasibility studies involving several rivers for electricity generation.

“We are also going to help the Malawi government with its green-belt initiative by introducing solar energy for irrigation to benefit small-scale farmers,” said AfDB country representative in Malawi Frank Kufakwandi.
