AfDB Supports Gambian Water Reforms

The African Development Bank will provide approximately 2 million euros (USD2.6 million) to support a nationwide water sector reform initiative in Gambia. The grant will be used to strengthen Gambia’s integrated water resources management project, which seeks to improve water supply and sanitation in the country.

The money, which will be drawn from AfDB’s African Water Facility, will be used for developing the legal and institutional environment needed to implement the water management project. It will also support efforts to improve the data and information systems of Gambia’s water-related institutions.
