AfDB Supports Lake Victoria Development Scheme

The African Development Bank has approved a USD120 million grant to help address water and sanitation challenges around Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the second-largest freshwater lake in the world.

The grant will support initiatives in three towns in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. These initiatives are also supported by a USD257.2 million financing package from Sweden and the World Bank, the New Times reports.
