Afghan IT Industry Wins World Bank Help

The World Bank is providing a $50 million grant to bolster Afghanistan’s information technology sector. 

The grant from the bank’s International Development Association will be used to support the Afghanistan Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Sector Development Project. The project aims to promote policy and regulatory reforms and investments to expand connectivity, boost the mainstreaming of mobile application use for better public service delivery, and widen the pool of skilled information technology professionals.
