The first African Women’s Economic Summit took place in Nairobi, with some 160 African and global leaders in the financial and policy sectors and prominent women entrepreneurs witnessing the launching ceremony. African Development Bank President Donald Kaberuka and New Faces, New Voices founder Graça Machel co-hosted the event. The summit explored how the financial sector can be reshaped through “investing differently in women,” according to an AfDB press release.
