Aid agencies call for USD462 million in Palestinian aid

International aid agencies have launched an appeal for at least USD462 million to help Palestinians this year. The appeal if granted will make the Palestinians the third largest aid recipient after Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The U.N. said that most of the funding will be used to provide food assistance and to create jobs for millions of Palestinians living in poverty in the Gaza Strip.
