Aid Groups in Central Sulawesi Highlight Need for More Conflict-Sensitive Projects

Donors, non-governmental organizations and local authorities in Central Sulawesi should work toward creating a forum where they can discuss how to create more conflict-sensitive and transparent development programs that promote peace and disaster risk management in the Indonesian province. This was one of the agreements reached by donor officials who met in Palu, the provincial capital, on May 22.

Several organizations are engaged in various development and peacebuilding projects in the Indonesian province. These include the United Nations Development Program, which has supported approximately USD16.6 million worth of development projects in Central Sulawesi since September 2005.
