Albania to receive disaster mitigation aid from World Bank

The World Bank will give USD9.2 million in credit and loan to the Disaster Risk Mitigation and Adaptation Project in Albania. “This project is the first operation under the South Eastern Europe Disaster Risk Mitigation and Adaptation Program, and demonstrates Albania’s commitment to reducing vulnerability to disasters on both the national and regional levels,” World Bank Task Team Leader Alison Cave stated. The agency has earmarked USD966 million since Albania became a member in 1991.
