All Set for European Development Days

Heads of state from Europe and Africa, European Union officials, civil society representatives and other international development figures are Brussels-bound next week for the two-day European Development Days.

A program of events released by the European Commission indicates planned keynotes by the likes of European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn during the opening ceremony. EDD will also feature discussions on the future of EU budget support, the development landscape post-Lisbon Treaty and aid effectiveness.

A press release from the European Commission includes the list of confirmed guests at the Dec. 6-7 gathering.
