American Red Cross Distributes More Haiti Aid

The American Red Cross will allocate an additional USD24.4 million for relief and recovery work in Haiti, bringing the organization’s total commitment to USD106.4 million as of March 10. This latest allocation includes USD16.1 million to help build transitional shelters, USD3.7 million to help Habitat for Humanity purchase materials for emergency shelters and USD4.6 million to finance cash grants through Fonkoze, Haiti’s largest microfinance firm.
