An International Monetary Fund mission recently visited Argentina to advise the country’s national statistics agency, INDEC, as it develops a new national consumer price index. The IMF team said it did not give any recommendations during its visit as per the normal practice of IMF technical assistance missions. During its stay in Buenos Aires, the team held technical discussions with INDEC and also met with private sector actors, including academic experts.
