Australia adds $20M to malaria fund for Pacific



Australia’s aid agency AusAID has earmarked another $20 million of its budget to fight malaria in the Pacific, with as much as $12 million allotted for the Solomon Islands and $5 million for Vanuatu. The additional funding, which will also benefit Papua New Guinea, will support the training of medical staff, acquisition of equipment and testing kits, enhancement of record-keeping techniques and launching of malaria education initiatives in the Pacific.
