Australia Earmarks USD10 Million for Palestinians

The Australian government will release USD10 million for the Palestinian Authority. The funding includes a USD7.5 million budget support through the World Bank’s Palestinian Reform and Development Plan trust fund. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East will use the rest to provide emergency food aid in Gaza. The sum is the final tranche of the USD45 million pledged by Australia at the Paris Donors’ Conference in December 2007. (“Palestinian Authority and Territories Assistance” - AusAid, Oct. 28, 2008)
